OSFM has determined that candidates must complete the JPRs from NFPA 1002 (2017) chapter 4 as part of Wildland Fire Apparatus Driver/Operator certification. The Fire Apparatus Driver/Operator Implementation Plan was developed to provide detailed information regarding how and when the transition to this new certification will go into effect. The requirements for this certification can be found in the SFT Procedures Manual.

Certification Informationįire Apparatus Driver/Operator Pump Apparatus is one of five certifications available in the California Fire Apparatus Driver/Operator professional certification series. The Statewide Training and Education Advisory Committee (STEAC) and the State Board of Fire Services (SBFS) recommended these standards and qualifications for adoption by the Office of the State Fire Marshal (OSFM). State Fire Training coordinated the development of the CTS guide, certification and associated curriculum. These qualifications are documented in the Fire Apparatus Driver/Operator CTS Guide (2017).
